Vibraphone Renaissance



I've been given a highly damaged and noisy vibraphone recording by a fellow sound developer. Using the power of spectral repair, I manually fixed each note to its original state giving this vibraphone sample set a rebirth, hence its name Vibraphone Renaissance.

Three variations of this vibraphone have been created: the original vibraphone sound, a looped version that can be sustained, and a granular drone version perfect for soundtrack scoring.

The original recording has been provided by Versilian Studios.

Plugin version:


Features of the plugin version:

Decent Sampler version:


The Decent Sampler version features the same sounds as the plugin version, but with different effects and sound-shaping capabilities. Decent Sampler is a free sampler VST/VST3/AAX/AU/AUv3 and is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS. There's also a standalone version.

Reason ReFill version:


The Reason ReFill version contains 3 combinators with extensive effects: EQ, delay, reverb, and lofi. Reason 12 and up or Reason+ are required.

Kontakt 5/6 version:


The Kontakt version has an amplitude and filter ADSRs as well as a delay, reverb, and chorus. The Kontakt 5/6 version requires the full version of Kontakt 5/6. It must be the latest updated version.

Audio demo:


The audio showcases the original vibraphone sound as well as the drone version. Ensemble strings have been added to create a fuller sound and show the sounds in context.
